It’s a new year, and that means new fashion trends. Fashionistas everywhere will be poring over blogs and street-fashion clips in order to figure out what’s hot and where to get it. As you begin this delightful and important process, don’t forget to do your jewelry! Updated accessories are an essential component of an on-trend wardrobe. I tend to purchase one or two statement pieces for the year and wear them with everything, so precision is key.
I’ve put a lot of thought into my statement piece for this year. It needs to be on trend, but not strongly dated. I don’t buy jewelry that will scream 2018 to people who see me wearing it in 2020. It’s got to be unique, but trendy enough that it will match my single-season, fast-fashion splurges.
I’m also a millennial which means I’m on a budget. 2018 is going to be a great year, but my 2018 probably won’t involve receiving a 20-carat diamond (congratulations, Paris!). Instead I’m going to start the year off right. I’m going to take myself to brunch, have a few mimosas, and treat myself to a gorgeous pink morganite and rose gold ring.
When you think about it, it’s an obvious (and brilliant) choice. As the so-called “millennial pink” spreads from clothing to home goods, it’s only natural that it should make its way to jewelry, and rings are the perfect way to add a sparkly pop of color to even your most understated outfits.
The combination present in pink morganite rose gold rings is ideal for the fashion of now and of the future. Rose gold has come decidedly into its own in the last few years. It’s trendy without being ubiquitous, meaning I won’t see similar rings on my friends. There’s nothing worse than buying a statement piece, only to find that every other woman your age has decided to make the same statement. Yikes!
Pink morganite is an unbelievably beautiful stone which is precisely the same color as a flute of chilled strawberry champagne. As soon as I saw this sparkly little stone, I fell hopelessly in love. The color is as delicate and feminine as bubble baths and baby’s breath. When nestled in a rose gold band it seems to glow with feminine energy.
For all of its beauty, one of the main coups my ring has over your standard diamond sparkler is the fact that it is relatively inexpensive. This is the kind of jewelry I can purchase for myself and feel good instead of guilty. If I am strapped for rent six months from now, it will not be due to this particular purchase.
